Plagiarism Policy

The Journal of Bioscience Studies (JBS) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and strictly prohibits plagiarism, defined as using another person’s ideas, writings, or work as one’s own. To ensure originality, JBS employs Turnitin and follows the Higher Education Commission (HEC) guidelines, permitting an overall similarity index of up to 19% and a maximum single-source similarity of 5%. Any form of academic misconduct— including plagiarism, self-plagiarism, citation manipulation, data fabrication, or falsification—is subject to a zero-tolerance policy, and violations may result in manuscript rejection, article retraction, author blacklisting, or notification of affiliated institutions, in accordance with COPE guidelines. JBS also adheres to the COPE Position Statement on Artificial Intelligence, recognizing that AI tools cannot hold authorship or responsibility for scholarly work. Authors must transparently disclose any use of AI for language assistance, graphic generation, or preliminary analysis, while maintaining full accountability for the accuracy, ethical compliance, and integrity of their submission. Any misuse of AI that results in fabricated data, false citations, or misleading content will be addressed under JBS’s research integrity procedures. By submitting their manuscripts, authors affirm that their work is original, ethically prepared, and fully compliant with the journal’s plagiarism and AI usage policies.
