Publication Ethics

The Journal of Bioscience Studies (JBS) is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics in accordance with COPE, ICMJE, Elsevier, and globally recognized ethical guidelines to ensure the integrity and credibility of scholarly research. Authors are required to submit original, unpublished work, properly acknowledge all sources, disclose conflicts of interest, follow ethical research protocols—particularly for human and animal studies—and promptly report any post-publication errors. Editors are responsible for fair, unbiased manuscript evaluation, maintaining confidentiality, overseeing a transparent peer-review process, and addressing ethical concerns according to COPE procedures. Reviewers must provide objective, confidential, and timely assessments while identifying ethical issues and avoiding conflicts of interest. JBS enforces a strict zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, fabrication, and falsification, screening all submissions and taking corrective actions such as rejection, retraction, or author sanctions when necessary. Authors must ensure data accuracy, transparency, and reproducibility while retaining raw data for verification. All parties must disclose financial, personal, or institutional conflicts of interest to maintain objectivity. Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern are issued following COPE guidelines when errors or misconduct arise. Research involving humans or animals must comply with international ethical standards, including the Helsinki Declaration and ARRIVE guidelines, with documented ethical approval and informed consent where applicable. JBS also provides a fair process for addressing complaints or appeals, ensuring thorough investigation and corrective action when warranted. Through its strict adherence to international ethical standards, JBS safeguards the quality, trustworthiness, and global credibility of the scientific work it publishes.
