Article Processing Charges

The Journal of Bioscience Studies (JBS) is committed to transparent, fair, and equitable open-access publishing practices. All author-facing publication charges and applicable waiver arrangements are disclosed clearly below.
1. Submission Fees JBS does not charge any submission fee. Authors may submit manuscripts free of charge, and submission is not conditional upon payment of any fee.
2. Article Processing Charge An Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 145 is payable only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication following completion of the peer-review and editorial decision-making process.
The APC covers editorial processing, peer-review administration, article production, online hosting, and immediate open-access publication under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
Payment of an APC does not influence peer review, editorial decisions, or manuscript acceptance.
3. Other Author Charges JBS does not charge any additional mandatory publication fees beyond the stated APC. There are no submission fees, editorial processing fees, page charges, colour charges, or mandatory language-editing charges.
Authors will not be required to pay any undisclosed mandatory charge during the submission, peer-review, production, or publication process.
4. Waivers and Discounts JBS may provide full or partial APC waivers on a case-by-case basis to authors from low-income countries or to authors experiencing genuine financial hardship.
Waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission and should include a brief explanation of the circumstances supporting the request. Waiver requests are assessed independently of the editorial and peer-review process.
Requesting or receiving an APC waiver has no influence on peer review, editorial decisions, or manuscript acceptance.
5. Refund Policy An APC payment may be refunded in cases of duplicate payment or where JBS withdraws an article before publication because of an editorial, ethical, or publication-integrity matter attributable to the journal's decision.
APC payments are generally non-refundable when an author voluntarily withdraws a manuscript after acceptance or when the article has already been published, except where a refund is warranted because of an administrative or publishing error by the journal.
6. Post-Acceptance and Post-Publication Changes Minor post-publication corrections, including errata and corrigenda, are handled according to the journal's Corrections and Retractions Policy and do not incur additional charges.
Substantial changes to the published Version of Record are generally not permitted except where a correction, retraction, expression of concern, or other post-publication action is warranted under the journal's editorial and publication-integrity policies.
7. Fee Transparency The APC and all mandatory author charges are publicly disclosed on the JBS website and are available to authors before submission. The journal does not introduce undisclosed mandatory charges after manuscript submission.
