Withdrawal Policy

The Journal of Bioscience Studies (JBS) follows a strict withdrawal policy to ensure the integrity of the publication process. Authors are strongly encouraged to carefully consider their decision before submitting a withdrawal request.

1. Submission of Withdrawal Requests

A formal withdrawal request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author to the Editor-in-Chief. The request must be sent from the corresponding author's registered email address and should include:

  • The title of the article

  • The full names of all authors

  • The manuscript ID (if applicable)

  • A clear and detailed reason for the withdrawal

2. Consideration of Withdrawal Requests

Withdrawal requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, taking into account:

  • The stage of the publication process at which the request is made

  • The justification for withdrawal

  • The potential impact of withdrawal on the journal and the academic record

3. Conditions for Withdrawal

  • Before Acceptance: Authors may withdraw their manuscript without penalty before formal acceptance. However, repeated withdrawals without valid justification may lead to restrictions on future submissions.

  • After Acceptance but Before Publication: Withdrawal requests after acceptance will only be considered in exceptional cases, such as ethical concerns or errors affecting the validity of the study. If the request is approved, a formal notice of withdrawal may be issued.

  • After Publication: Once an article has been published, withdrawal is generally not permitted. Retraction may be considered only under specific circumstances, such as ethical violations, research misconduct, or major errors. In such cases, a retraction notice will be published in accordance with COPE guidelines.

4. Ethical Considerations and Consequences

  • Articles that have been cited cannot be withdrawn except in cases of ethical misconduct.

  • Authors who withdraw manuscripts after acceptance without a valid reason may be blacklisted from submitting future work to JBS.

  • Withdrawal due to conflicts with funding agencies or institutional policies must be justified with supporting documentation.

The Journal of Bioscience Studies (JBS) adheres to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for handling withdrawal requests. More information about COPE's guidelines can be found at: https://publicationethics.org/

Before submitting a withdrawal request, authors are advised to carefully assess the implications and consult their research supervisors or institutional authorities.
