Waiver-Eligibility

The Journal of Bioscience Studies (JBS) is committed to equitable access to scholarly publishing and offers full or partial Article Processing Charge (APC) waivers to support authors from resource-limited settings.
Eligibility Criteria Waiver consideration may take into account the corresponding author's institutional affiliation in a country classified by the World Bank as a low-income or lower-middle-income economy at the time of submission. Authors experiencing genuine financial hardship may also request a waiver regardless of country classification.
Application Requirements Waiver requests should be clearly indicated in the cover letter at the time of manuscript submission. Authors should provide a brief statement explaining the financial circumstances supporting the request.
Supporting documentation from the corresponding author's institution may be requested where appropriate but is not mandatory in all cases.
Review Process Each waiver request is evaluated independently by the Editorial Office based on the information provided, demonstrated financial need, and available journal resources.
Waiver decisions are kept separate from the peer-review and editorial decision-making process and have no influence on the acceptance or rejection of a manuscript. Authors will normally receive a decision regarding their waiver request within two weeks of submission.
Important Notes
• Waivers are granted at the discretion of the journal and are subject to available resources.
• Submission of a waiver request does not guarantee approval.
• Authors are encouraged to contact the Editorial Office in advance if they have questions regarding eligibility.
